2.5 Copyright Designs and Patents Act
The third legislation we cover relating to ICT is the Copyright Designs and Patents Act 1988. This act is the UK's current copyright law. This act applies to computer software as well as non-ICT-related media like music and gives the creator control over the ways in which their material may be used.
